The preponderance of Disney biography is carefully controlled garbage from his own company. Though as a tech/art historian I admire his work and ethic, I despise the modern Disney Corporation, both as an Artist and as an Engineer. Had W.E.D. been in the Klan, it could and would have been obscured. Dontcha think?Do you work for Disney, an associate, division or affiliate?

Aug 19, 2008 - By All accounts, Walt Disney was a practicing Roman Catholic. During his lifetime, the only Klan group that admitted Catholics to membership was the Original Knights from Louisiana. In the 1960's and prior, all other Klan organizations were rabidly anti-Catholic. I seriously doubt that Disney was so hateful toward blacks that he would ally himself with a group as distant and inconvenient to his CA operation as the Original Knights of the KKK. Whether he was a racist in his heart, I do not know.

Aug 20, 2008 - Not as solid as I thought...even though we are on YouTube and expected to spew BS, I took the time to check out Disney's religion and, although he had an Irish father, he was a Protestant. However, if he had any dealings with the Klan, he must have been a secret agent, since there is no evidence of it. I know you are joking about Nazism. So was Disney when he produced "Der Fuhrer's Face." He was anti-Communist and appeared before HUAC, but had no history of Klan or Nazi connections.

Sep 4, 2008 - Disney had a hard-on for certain union organizers who caused his studio to shut down in the early '40's right after he produced a couple box office turkeys like "Fantasia" and "Pinocchio," so the strike nearly drove him out of business. When he had a chance to strike back a few years later before Congress, he took advantage of it. It was spiteful for sure but it's hardly the same as joining the KKK.
